Although there were times where I thought really? this was a fun book.

After leaving California and trekking to Brooklyn, New York Amber is ready to find a new life for herself. Her adventure starts with finding out the "cute" apartment she rented is really a barely standing apartment unit, and her neighbors are a drug addict and prostitute. Amber takes the challenge though finds a job and tackles her apartment with refreshed ideas.
When she ends up serving Trent Falco at the restaurant she is working at, she is attracted to the man but his cockiness quickly throws her off. Trent wants Amber, he knows she is different, she surprises him at every turn. However, Amber is reluctant to get involved with a Mob Boss and certainly has no plans to get involved with someone who is not completely honest with her. Trent will have to decide if Amber is worth the trust he would need to share his life with.
Although there were times where I thought really? this was a fun book. I liked Amber, she doesn't have a filter. Trent was a fantastic hero, I liked that he was quite charming and vulnerable where Amber was concerned. Entertaining, I will be checking out more from this author.

Don't be fooled......this is NOT a Mafia Romance

Initially the book started out good but it went completely down hill after the MCs "forced" first date. I will admit the the story line had much potential but the execution failed on many levels. I never felt true chemistry between the MCs. I have read many mafia romances and not once did the "boss" give out all the secrets of his empire to a woman that he wasn't even married to. Amber asked to many questions, and I felt she was too self centered. The small things got to me....like she only spoke to her mom once, Amber never went to Trent's house, and the unnecessary plot twist. I finished the story with hopes that it would pick up and Trent would act like a true Mob a Boss but it never happened. The author gave the story a try but it just fell flat for my taste regarding mafia romance.

The book was okay, there was potential for it to hand been a great read. The girl in the book, seemed just to needy and gave up the "me me me" attitude. The "mob boss" seemed like a wanna be gangster than a mob boss. Half way through I was annoyed with the whiny girl and would of stopped reading it but I'm that reader that has to finish a book regardless.
