The Brazillian's Forgotten Lover

I didn't know that there were two books before this one when I first started this book. Didn't matter. A a is one of triplet sisters. Her story revolved around Cristiano and the time they were together several years ago. Yes they have a history. And it ended badly. Now he is back for one of his friends wedding at her boutique vineyard. This story is the last of the sisters and all past secrets are revealed. Even though I have read it first it hasn't stopped me from reading the other two books. Clare Connelly is still an author that I will keep reading.

This was a good book to read. I loved the characters and their story line. I hope that there is another book that can combine the Casacelli brothers and the Henderson sister's. Great author.

About the Author
Peter Flom has nonverbal learning disabilities (NLD or NVLD). He was the first student at the Gateway School in New York City and has an MA in special education and a PhD in psychometrics. He has given talks about NLD at various organizations and is active on several sites about learning disabilities.

Peter Flom writes: “It is so hard to explain our difficulties” — the difficulties of people with nonverbal learning disability — but he does so brilliantly and compellingly in Screwed Up Somehow but Not Stupid. And after a vivid description of his life and the problems faced by others like him, he gives a detailed panorama of ways to help. This is a terrific book: honest and optimistic, and propelled by hope and good will.

NLD from the “horse’s mouth”

After retiring at 63 years of age from a career as an Electronic Engineer I did some research on my lifelong weaknesses. I discovered I had a Nonverbal Learning Disability (NLD). Having NLD meant that although I was very good at challenging and creative tasks I couldn’t easily do things that most people take for granted like folding paper.

This book is written by Dr. Peter Flom who is also someone that has NLD. It is the author’s life experiences with NLD. I was amazed at how similar Dr. Flom’s NLD life is to mine. Reading this book expressed so much of what my life was and still is.

In addition to describing how NLD manifested itself in the author’s life the book also gives practical advice for someone with NLD and also for someone that has to deal with a person with NLD, like a parent, spouse or teacher etc. There are many books about NLD written by the likes of therapists and other “experts” but this book comes straight from the “horse’s mouth” so to speak.

The book deals with the whole lifespan from childhood, to school and into adulthood. The writing is very clear and is an easy and interesting read. I think it is the perfect book for anyone that really wants to understand NLD or just for a genuinely out of the ordinary read.

Reverend Dr. Michael Beckwith was ordained as a minister of Religious Science in 1985. He is founder and minister of the Agape International Center of Truth, home of the Agape Church of Religious Science, one of the nation's largest multi-cultural, multi-racial, trans-denominational spiritual communities. Rev. Beckwith is a distinguished humanitarian, teacher, mentor, songwriter and producer. He is in demand the world over as a speaker and facilitator. He is regularly heard on the 'Life Is Good!' radio program every Sunday evening in Los Angeles and the Agape Television Ministry nationwide on Sunday afternoons.

Rev. Michael Beckwith and the Agape Church were awarded the Samata Karma Award in the field of community Service by the Samata Yoga & Health Institute. He was awarded the first Angel of the Year Award from the Children's Life-Saving Foundation. Rev. Michael is the recipient of the State of California Certificate of Recognition for outstanding service to the community and for dynamic religious leadership as well as a commendation from the mayor of Santa Monica for Excellence in Spiritual Leadership and Community Development. He is also the recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award presented by the Hollywood and Vine Recovery Center and Stops for Recovery. He was honored by the Congress of Racial Equality (C.O.R.E.) as one of the top ten ministers in Los Angeles. At the Sixth Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Celebration in Los Angeles, he was presented the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Peace Award.
