Redwall Box Set

This set definitely met my satisfaction. All the books came in a neat box about 1 cubic foot in paperback edition, each shrink wrapped as if they were new. It was obvious that some have had shelf life, but absolutely none of them have been read before. Also, shipped in 2 days so extremely fast. I am very satisfied and recommend this to any Redwall fans as a great deal.

Older and still great!

This is the best book I have found on diamond-point engraving, which is what I do. I think it is better even than Boyd Graham's Engraving Glass:a Beginner's Guide. Barbara Norman, an English glass engraver herself, has a conversational style of writing that is also helpful and encouraging. I wish I had found this book when I was just getting started, it would have made things so much easier. Even so, I learned ideas for tools and methods I hadn't used, and it inspired me to do more with my work. Norman also includes historical information, somewhat English based, on glass decorating techniques included in the book, i.e. drill-engraving, cooper-wheel engraving, cold-painting, gold engraving under glass. I would love to see her do an updated edition of this book, because the photographic style of the book is dated as it was published in 1972; until then this is the best, especially on diamond-point engraving.

The instructions for procedures were aimed at the experienced engraver. There were only photos of completed items not step by step. The description should say "not for beginners" I was looking for a step by step instructional book. There are no photos to speak of other than finished items and the book is just not motivational.

The Little World of Don Camillo; The enchanting adventures of a little Parish Priest

In the tiny Po River Valley in an obscure village in Italy a good-hearted village Priest, Don Camillo, struggles to tend his flock, stay true to God and goodness, while struggling with his personal and very human Italian-temper. Don Camillo's buttons are often pushed by his arch-rival the Village Mayor, an avowed leader of the Communist Party, who is also struggling to do his best to tend to the villagers and maintain his own Italian temper. Set in the conflict of the days between the World Wars, the men are artful and worthy adversaries who often & hysterically get the best of each other by turns, and occasionally ignore their differences so they can work together to do their best for their community. Not dissimilar to what is going on over in another country far far away today. If you have any Italian blood in you, or you have loved anyone or anything Italian, you will find this a joy. And, it is a series! In 1953 they made three of the series into wonderful movies you will certainly enjoy.

What POD shouldn't be

This is a very poorly executed print-on-demand book that is difficult to read because of the really bad typesetting. The illustrations are unreadable, having been scanned at very low resolution. Buy a used copy of Don Camillo and His Flock (same book plus another chapter or two) and you will be much happier.

Where ever you are in your relationship, it is sure to encourage you even deeper!

I am a big fan of the Lord series bible studies from Kay. It does not matter what the topic of the book is, it always seems to speak to me and draw me closer. I love precepts, but this is a great study for in-between bible studies or when your on the go. (traveling) Also, I would recommend doing this study with a new believer or someone who is seeking.

I have been using this book with several groups of ladies and it is awesome. It doesn't seem to matter what the spiritual level is, God uses this material to teach his truths. Ladies have discovered things I thought they already knew such as Jesus is God and the need to be in the Word daily! Somehow they had missed that even though they had been in the church since they were children. And it is a great way for them to learn Bible study. They are excited about the Lord and knowing more about Him.
